Water efficiency calculations — required under Part G of the Building Regulations — demonstrate that a new dwelling is designed to meet the maximum permitted water consumption target. In most areas, that target is 125 litres per person per day (or 110 litres in higher water stress areas). The calculation takes account of the fittings and appliances specified — including WCs, showers, baths, basins, and washing machines — and confirms whether the overall design meets the required standard.
